Perhaps that old double standard is no longer in play, but why should women’s chastity be more important than mens? Besides, I always found it a difficult concept to bear that the woman had to be a virgin but the man shouldn’t be…what if the woman had been raped? what if the man had aquired an STD? It feels like a burden as a woman to be judged worthy based on whether or not I had or had not had sex.

The one that really suprises me is the financial thing. I had always thought a man’s financial status was less important back-then as compared to nowdays
