Monday of the Fourth Week of Lent

Return to the Lent calendar.

Lent Quotable

There are many things that are essential to arriving at true peace of mind, and one of the most important is faith, which cannot be acquired without prayer.
— John Wooden, UCLA Coach

Fast from breakfast and dinner today.

Pray for those who miss breakfast and dinner every day.

Give the cost of those two meals (at least $10) to your FastPrayGive Bowl. (Your FastPrayGive Bowl is a container you’ve set aside to hold the money saved from various fasting challenges, to be used for whatever charity you choose at the end of Lent.)

Slipped up? Don’t give up. Start again and share your
struggles at our “Slip Support Station” on Facebook.
Today’s Prize is: a copy of The Sacred Art of Fasting by Fr. Thomas Ryan, CSP

Sadly, due to no peeking, I did not read this until after I ate breakfast. But I will fast the rest of the day. Very nice calendar, much better than “giving up” something. Makes you think. And I’m older than this site’s intended for, so the wheels turn a little slower.

Due to medical reasons, I had to modify this a bit. However, I did realize that we really DO spend a lot on food don’t we? I mean, I COULD eat on as little as $10 a day, but what about weekends out with friends? Yikes.
