Great Blend! Ms.Clancy follows the way of the Spritual exercises of St. Ignatius, the contemplative Carmelites and a sociologist who, I believe, is "spot-on" as they say in the UK.
I have observed this discernment process in the rooms of Alcoholics Anonymous. The 11th step is all about a continuing "conscious contact with God, as we understand God". The contemplative, the discernment come together at meetings where a situation is shared and solutions offered either by members or by the person's sponsor. God is truly at work in those sacred spaces. The earthquake is subdued.

Very good synthesis indeed. I love how you brought in body awareness-- especially through vigorous activity like dance. I have always trusted my decisions/actions much more when I feel them as 'right' or 'true' in my body. good work cousin!!

Wow -- from the bible to Gladwell to spirituality and back. Too few writers connect the dots and that's what we have here -- I love the Gladwell books but find he stops shot of noting the role that spirit plays in decisions and such. Like earthquakes indeed!
