Here's some of my annotated notes from this article:
Siobhan Fallon(SF): good moral, faithful actress celebrity, role model for Christians -- I think.
SF says in response to BH's ?, "...but in general you don't think it's being played for laughs?", SF says: "JESUS IS ALWAYS WITH YOU AND SO NOSTALGIC AND SO AM I." --I found this to be interesting.
In response to "you were brought up Catholic?", SF says, "...my faith means a lot to me. I want to set a good example for my kids and basically play roles that I feel are good moral example." --GOOD MORAL EXAMPLE--I found this very inspiring for not just actors, but all of us.
In response to BH's ? when you talk about a role not being right in terms of your own faith, or how it portrays women, can you talk a little bit about what you say to the people you're working with?
SF REPLIES:
"...I stay away form TV..." --- Does she mean watch or act?; Act I think.
"...a recurring role -- meaning you're not on every episode but you're on several of the episodes..." --recurring role: not on ever episode; this is a word that I always wandered about its meaning
"...my part wasn't dirty. ... I remember thinking you have to do it for money ... I've lived with a stomach ache for two days" ... Just basically, I have three kids and I"m Catholic and I don't morally agree with the script you've written. I'm not judging you, but it's not my cup of tea and I can't fake it it and I don't want to get into a situation where I'm gonna accept a role and then have to quit on you. So movies for that reason work much better and basically, it's just you have to stick with your gut." :
WOW!-- T.V.=No=her reason is powerful! ; Movies=Yes
"cup of tea" --> interesting "old phrase" --> Mean What???
In response to BH's ?, has this always been the way you've felt? even back when you were on Saturday Night Live(SNL) years ago? Or is this something that's evolved for you you?
SF REPLIES:
"...'Polly Purebred'" : what's "polly pure bred" mean???
"...I think you can do things if it's clear that it isn't for kids..." : interesting
"...I'm so goofy looking, ... " :is this true? I don't think so-- is anyone really goofy looking? If they all, well then I guess we all are goofy looking.--that's my take on that statement.
"So thank God I"m a character actress. It makes it a lot easier." : For her, character actress is a lot easier.-- at least that's what I took from that last statement to the article.

I just read and annotated this feature article from Busted Halo (yeah... I think I'm falling in love with reading--nonfiction reading that is--all over again, and well for annotating, lets just say that its very useful, and NOT a pain...for I read this article for fun, 'cause it was interesting and I found it very inspirational and inspiring, for not just women, but all Catholic and Christian believers --- and makes me thing that it would be great if all actors would be like that! ON my annotating all over this article that I read for fun, Erika, You will be proud-- thanks to Prof. Plattner for ENG 100, You for your "fun workshop", and Mr. Neurater for preparing his students for college classes--thanks to all of you!!!
I heartily recommend you to read this feature article.
