Jimmy Carter

Jimmy Carter served as the thirty ninth president of the United States from 1977-1981 and was awarded the Nobel Prize for Peace in 2002. He is the author of numerous books including the bestseller An Hour Before Daylight. His most recent book, Our Endangered Values: America's Moral Crisis was released in late 2005.

Anne Rice is the best selling author of numerous books, including The Vampire Chronicles. Her new book Christ the Lord, Out of Egypt was published in late 2005.

Daniel Ellsberg was the source of "The Pentagon Papers," the leak that exposed the deliberate deception regarding America's involvement in Vietnam. He has spent much of the past thirty-five years as a political activist and lecturer.

Dan Barry is the “About New York” columnist for the New York Times. He has shared a Pulitzer Prize and a George Polk Award, and received the 2003 Distinguished Writing Award from the American Society of Newspaper Editors. His book, Pull Me Up: A Memoir, was published by W.W. Norton and Company in 2004 and released in paperback this past spring.

Bob Abernethy

The longtime NBC correspondent created the show "Religion and Ethics NewsWeekly" for PBS to fill what he saw as a lack of serious discussion surrounding issues of faith in the national media landscape.

Garry Wills cultural historian and author, has spent more than three decades researching and writing on historical figures like Thomas Jefferson, Abraham Lincoln and Ronald Reagan (his Lincoln at Gettsyburg won the Pulitzer Prize in 1993 for nonfiction). His latest book, The Rosary, is both a history of one of Catholicism’s oldest practices as well as a prayer guide.

Mark Mossa, SJ  is studying theology at Weston Jesuit School of Theology in preparation for the priesthood.  He taught philosophy at Loyola University in New Orleans and is currently at work on an introduction to the spiritual life for young adults, to be published in 2007.

John Allen, Jr.  is the Vatican Correspondent for the National Catholic Reporter and CNN.  His column, "This Week in Rome," is among one of the most widely read columns in the Catholic Press.


 

Laura Sheahen is a senior religion editor at Beliefnet.com, "a multi-faith e-community designed to help readers meet their own religious and spiritual needs in an interesting, captivating and engaging way."


 

Mike Hayes  is the managing editor and co-founder of BustedHalo.com. He also serves on the board of directors for the National Catholic Young Adult Ministry Association. Mike's master's thesis on ministering to different generations of young adults is awaiting publication with Paulist Press.
